Even though there are still few episodes left to the end of “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” and everything can change, here is a list of 6 reasons everyone should watch the drama. It is not only a very fun to watch but, also an educational drama. Without further ado, allow me to introduce the 6 reasons why everyone should tune in!

Actors

This is the main reason I started to watch “It’s Okay, That’s Love.” I am a big fan of Jo In Sung since I saw him in “A Frozen Flower,” and I just love seeing Gong Hyo Jin taking on roles of funny and cute women, just like she did in “The Master’s Sun” and “Greatest Love.” And, of course, I was very excited and curious to see EXO‘s D.O. take on his first acting role. I cannot forget about Lee Kwang Soo, (whose acting I will comment on in a later part of this article) Seong Dong Il, and Lee Sung Kyung.

Settings

I have to say, the production team put a lot of thought and effort into picking beautiful places for this drama, including Korean villages, forests, valleys, and Okinawa in Japan. Most of the time, while watching the drama, I have this craving to Google the landscapes, just to find out where should I go visit next.

Soundtrack

This is not a soundtrack you can find in almost every Korean drama. “It’s Okay, That’s Love” is full of English songs with meaningful lyrics, such as Family of the Year‘s “Hero,” which you can listen to below. EXO’s Chen has also lent his voice for this drama through the song titled “Best Luck.” I have to admit, there are times I follow the soundtrack more than the drama’s plot.

Acting

Now, here is where we all should give a standing ovation to the actors. Each and every one of them is amazing in his or her role. Jo In Sung is charming, Gong Hyo Jin is very credible, and Seong Dong Il seems like he has always been a doctor. But most of the praise I should save for D.O. and Lee Kwang Soo – they are both outstanding. I am usually very reluctant when it comes to singers acting in dramas, (with some exceptions) so it is a big relief for me to see how amazing D.O.’s acting skills are. I cannot believe it is his first role. Lee Kwang Soo on the other hand took on a very difficult role of a man struggling with the Tourette’s syndrome, but he did a great job, and I tend to forget that both of them are only playing the given roles, and that this is not who they are in real life. Excellent work!

Love Story

I admit, the love story line is very important for me. I dislike dramas with a very complex love line, with main actors trying to get together throughout the whole drama. They keep on bumping into some ridiculous obstacles that hardly ever happen in real life. Luckily, “It’s Okay, That’s Love” pleases us with a very stable relationship of the two main heroes, we have a lot of kisses, hugs and declarations of love. There is nothing more I could ask for.

Twists

There is nothing predictable about this drama. Even though you feel like you know everything, the script suddenly surprises with its twist. But, this is probably the secret behind the drama’s popularity, as well as the viewers’ excitement while they are waiting for another episode to air.

Dealing With Social Prejudice

This is probably the main reason everyone should watch “It’s Okay, That’s Love” as it deals with mentally ill patients who are very often called retards or creeps. This is another form of violence directed at them but most of us, who have never had to deal with someone who is suffering from any of the mental illnesses, do not know how to react. “It’s Okay, That’s Love” teaches us that mental illness is nothing to be afraid of, and all of us can help those that are dealing with it. We are all equal human beings, and we should not be afraid of those that we may view as different.

Are you watching “It’s Okay, That’s Love”? Perhaps you watch it for some other reasons than those listed above? What do you like the most about the drama? Do not be afraid to share your thoughts with through the comments. Also, if you are still not watching it, you can do so on DramaFever.
