BTS‘ maknae Jungkook celebrated his 17th birthday (18th in Korea) on September 1st, and his fellow members stepped it up a level, by sending him congratulations and regards through a hilarious and cute Twitter event!
Each member took it upon themselves to send a tweet with two photos, one that is “kwiyomi (cute)” and one that is “jimotmi (sorry I couldn’t protect you)”. The two words are from Jungkook’s lyrics in their recent release, “Danger“.

Jin was next, first sending a lovely message saying “You’re a cutie, hyung thinks you’re cute. #Kkookiehappybirthday” and then followed by a derpy photo as per tradition, with the caption “And, sorry I couldn’t protect you.”

Jimin, who is known to be extremely fond of the youngest, clarified his love again through two photos. “Kwiyomi, jimotmi, sorry Jungkook-ah, but you know I love you most, right? Happy birthday!! Stop growing. #Kkookiehappybirthday”

At last, Jungkook sent his thanks to fans and members alike, who trended #BTSKookieDay to first place worldwide, saying, “Hello, this is Jungkook, [the one that] turned 18 today. Thank you to ARMYs that congratulated me!!!!!!! I feel it’s more meaningful since this is the second birthday I celebrated with ARMYs. I will grow to be a more amazing adult for ARMYs.”
He then said, “Also…hyungs…seriously…thank you…the fact you did this event for me….seriously…wow…hehe I will grow to be a more hardworking Jungkook…I love you.”
