Jo Kwon’s message on Daum Café 2AM
TO IAM
Hello everyone~ I’m Jo Kwon from 2AM.
Where should I start… should I write or not… If I write this now, would the fans be worried… maybe I shouldn’t write… all this went through my mind~But if I don’t write it now, I don’t know when I would have time to write, so after ending the recording, I decided to write these words.
Unknowingly, we have spent 2 years together with every IAM^^ even though the road that’s to come is unending, and we also don’t know when is the end. But even if it ends, I will keep the memories of the time 2AM spent with everyone in my mind forever, and if it could become stories for our future generation, it’d be a good thing. Just like this, making music, using music, using our voices to rouse the emotions of people, to make people laugh… it is really beautiful for both the fans and the singers.
For those who knows…I went through 8 years as a trainee before my debut as 2AM with my dearest members: Chang Min (hyung), Seul Ong (hyung) and Jin Woon on 11th July 2008. The emotions I felt as I stood on the stage: touched, nervous and excitement is what I can never forget my whole life. In order not to forget that emotion, we would always think back to that day when we debut… looking at satisfying state we are in now, we will smile unknowingly. “Can’t Let You Go Even If I die”, “I Did Wrong”, “Like Crazy”, “You Wouldn’t Answer My Call” all these songs, whether it’s in this moment, or after 10 years, everyone should have the “Ah, this song is not bad”,”(when I hear the song) very satisfied”, “Very cute” feeling.
After 8 years, determination and tolerance have become gifts (to my personality)… And from 11th July 2008, becoming (part of ) 2AM is a really shocking present… And, getting IAM is the most special gift to me.
Being the 3rd youngest in the group, I became the leader, also for the longest time. But I also have many areas which are not satisfactory, there are still many areas that I really need to work harder on. [There’s a line that I can’t translate well: 要经常智慧的，贤明的努力做到最好。Generally it means to work harder and be wise(?)] Leader… to me, all of us are leader, we have to show respect and understanding to each other and rely on each other…
In the 2 years, there were many things that caused tears, laughs and frowns, but actually it’s not really the full 2 years yet, there is the “the road is still long”feeling~
My members and I…we are all doing our best in variety, acting and our original status as singers to show everyone our best, and coolest side. From 2 years ago…even now… we will work even harder in the future.
Of course, because of the busy schedules, my body would be very tired ^^ but I think this way.
Joy…happiness, and for everyone to feel the happiness, I have to rest a little then continue to run. But because we are just human, so we need time to rest too ^^ Everyone is most concerned about our health… in order to stay healthy, we are exercising and self-management. Everyone should understand right?
To date, even though I have been involved in a lot of variety shows, soon after I would also be showing Jo Kwon’s acting skills in the sitcom…But I still feel the ability to stand on the stage to sing if the happiest thing in the world. Fans can feel touched from our songs, the ability for the singers and the listeners to connect emotionally through the songs, that is the most touching thing, but also the most difficult thing to achieve. During the recording of this regular album, actually we didn’think too much. We just recorded with the thinking that“because we are being truthful, singing according to how we really feel, you’d understand!”
As for the songs, there isn’t really a fix theme or a fixed main character (audience?). Listeners, whether you are using speakers or headphones, the music you are listening to is made for everyone who’s listening to our songs.
My members and I, in order to present a new and different side of us have been thinking hard, practicing and preparing. I believe communicating our ideas to our fans is very important. Because as artistes, we have to be a little mysterious… but if we don’t communicate our ideas with our fans, we won’t be able to become closer. Even though, because of various different reasons, it might cause misunderstanding and negative effects, but to the fans who love us and whom we love very much, if we can understand each other, that’s good enough.
I believe, IAM and 2AM, no matter what obstacles or difficulties we faced, is the most reliable source of dependence [meaning IAM is the best source of comfort to 2AM and vice versa(?)] Between us, no matter what happens… patiently waiting and trusting, when we made a mistake, giving us timely advice (even when we seemed to be turning a deaf ear), when we didn’t make a mistake, giving us understanding. Maybe it’s because of all these that we can be where we are today together. Being honest is the way of communicating that anyone can do.
In order to show everyone our best side, we are working very hard. When everyone is giving us support, that really gives us a lot of strength. ^^ How we are now, like how through our voices, everyone get courage and strength, we also get a lot of strength from all the support and love we get from all of you. We are always grateful and very happy.
Also, in Dec would be 2AM’s first concert. Because the concert is nation-wide, and because we really wanted to have the concert, we are all very excited right now. We really want to be able to meet everyone at the concert. The excitement we feel this time is different from what we have felt before. ^^ We will prepare (for the concert) well. Our goal is to create an everlasting unforgettable memory!
2010, don’t want to rest! Let’s meet everyone every single day! This year, no matter what, IAM and 2AM must do everything coolly (?), we have made the promise no?
IAM is 2AM’s pride, 2AM is also IAM’s pride.
Finally, it’s our comeback~
Do come and support us during the broadcasts and increase our courage!
The sincerity towards me and my members, even if it’s just a little, we are always grateful for and touched by it.
