A powerful new voice has arrived on the music scene!

Singer Cherry B made her solo debut with ‘Her‘ on November 29. Take a look at her first music video below!

Cherry B‘s debut song ‘Her‘ is an R&B ballad that plays to the singer’s strengths. Her breathy voice is not overshadowed by an over-the-top instrumental; instead, the accompanying piano and string parts create emotive chords that emphasize Cherry B‘s touching vocal quality. ‘Her‘ sees Cherry B use a series of vocal runs that show her control, and well as high notes that will give listeners goosebumps. The slow, yet beautifully filmed music video highlights details such as snow caught in the actors’ hair and forms the perfect accompaniment to the stirring winter ballad.

‘Her‘ was composed by producer Lee Jong Hoon, and the lyrics were written by none other than powerhouse vocalist IU! This was IU‘s first experience writing lyrics for another artist, and she took to her personal Instagram account to talk about the experience. You can check out her post below!

I really enjoy writing lyrics but I still feel cautious about writing lyrics for other people’s songs, so I always delayed doing so until the next time and the next time and so on. One day I went to Lee Jong Hoon‘s recording studio and listened to the English guide for this song. The song was good and the singer’s voice was really nice… so for the first time, I ended up giving lyrics to another singer. Although she is still very young and doesn’t have a lot of experience because this is her debut song, I am thankful to Cherry B because she made an effort to go through each line one by one and really understand the lyrics. She sang very well It has been a long time since I was so charmed by a voice the first time I heard it. I had fun working with you and I’ll be cheering for you!
