SM Entertainment has announced that EXO‘s BaekHyun has been offered a role in the upcoming historical drama, ‘Lovers of the Moon‘ (working title), as stated on November 17th to Newsen.
BaekHyun would join veteran actors, Lee JoonGi, Kang HaNeul, and Hong JongHyun, who are being offered roles as well. It is also said that Hwang JungEum is being considered for the lead female role. This will mark BaekHyun’s drama debut, putting him into the ranks with fellow company members, EXO’s D.O. and Xiumin, SHINee‘s MinHo, and f(x)‘s Krystal. Directed by Kim KyuTae (‘It’s Okay, That’s Love‘), ‘Lovers of the Moon’ is a an adaptation of the Chinese drama, ‘Scarlet Heart.’ The original synopsis is about a woman who travels back in time from present day to the Qing Dynasty. This drama is scheduled to air sometime next year.
It seems that this show is rounding out with an all-star cast and with a great director behind them, to boot. It will be exciting to see who else joins this drama, and, as a drama lover, I am looking forward to the broadcast.
