BEFORE THE FANMEETING
When I got to the subway station, I was way too excited to get there, and ended up getting lost. I knew there would already be a long line for the official goods, and all I wanted was to get there and wait. So I ended up wandering off to some far away place and I met a fellow ARMY who was lost as well. HAHA. So yeah. I wandered around a bit, and finally arrived!

I saw a long line and it said ‘MD Line’ but I had no clue what MD was, so I was really confused. So I sat down and rested for a bit, and just stood in the line because #yolo. And it turns out MD stands for MerchanDise so I was in the right line! (#dumbjiyoon) A guy walking around handed a pamphlet out to everyone with the list of items and their barcodes, which we would use when we got to the booth. Little did I know that line was going to be my doom. I initially planned to buy the goods quickly, drop home for a short time and get ready, then go back to the location. But no, I ended up waiting from 11 AM to almost 5 PM in that brutal line just to get those stupid goods. I WAS DYING. I FELT LIFE SLOWLY DRAINING AWAY FROM EVERY PART OF MY BODY. Honestly though, when I held the items in my hand it was worth it. Thankfully, my mom brought me my placard (http://i.imgur.com/QHXXeQg.jpg) and some food so I was able to stay alive.

Then I picked up my ticket, had a quick dinner, then entered the building!

THE FANMEETING

Yeah, it really isn’t the best view out there, but I’m not an official ARMY so I had to take one of the crappier seats. But hey, what meant more to me was that I would finally see the boys that I love so much. And it really wasn’t that bad for one of the last rows on the second floor.

As the time neared 6 PM, I got super breathless because it was so surreal—I was finally going to see them. Finally. There was a radar-looking thing on the screen and this female voice was saying things like “March 29, 2014. ARMY is gathered in Olympic Hall. There are about 25,000 of us here.” and other things.

When it hit 6 PM, there was a 3 minute countdown on the screen. And when it hit zero, a remix of songs started playing. Any minute now! I was getting suuuuuper nervous at this point, and at the end there was a 10 second countdown. 10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1…0!!

FINALLY THEY WERE ON STAGE.
1) NO MORE DREAM
I got so emotional when I finally saw them, I swear to god. I was screaming and for some reason (please don’t judge me) I was crying too. HAHAHAHA I don’t even know why. I was crying and screaming and trying to believe that I was finally seeing the people I love so much, the people I always saw on screen, right in front of my eyes. Flawless performance, of course.

2) WE ARE BULLETPROOF PT. 2
Perfection. My soul separated from my body during Hoseok’s dance part.

3) BANGTAN’S DAY
This clip showed a day in the life of BTS. Starting from setting up their hair in the salon to performing live to practicing, their day ended at 3 AM. ㅠㅠ Then the clock rewound on screen and the words BANGTAN’S DAY appeared on screen. The word ‘BANGTAN’S’ disappeared and smoothly turned into “Just One Day”. In Korean it would be “방탄소년단의 하루” –> “하루” –> “하루만”

6) MENT
The boys welcomed us to the fanmeeting and each of them greeted us individually. I don’t quite remember much from this part, but they introduced that they would be having unit-stages! So Namjoon, Yoongi, and Seokjin went backstage while maknae line + Hoseok were left on stage. Hoseok made a show of asking us if he could be the MC and said that he had ‘humbly’ assumed the role of MC. HAHAHA. Then they started to diss the hyungs one by one.

For Seokjin, Jimin was like “Hyung is so handsome! I love you hyung! Do you hear me hyung it’s Jimin!!” turning towards backstage. u__u I forget most of what they said but Jimin also said that when Jin cooks, it’s like watching an anime boy cook or something, because he’s handsome, tall, and has wide shoulders. ;u; But he said it’s also funny watching him cook and imitated him cooking with his butt sticking out and whatnot. It was hilarious HAHA. For the rest, I don’t remember much, sorry ;;

7) ADULT CHILD
So the hyung line performed Adult Child! The choreo for this was so cute istg. Seokjin was in the front and Yoongi and Namjoon were at his sides along with the back dancers all forming a v-shape behind him. They rocked side to side like a child… is the best way to explain it. So cute ;__;

8) BEAUTIFUL
I screamed SO FREAKING LOUD when this song started. It’s one of my favorites from Bangtan, and I was absolutely ecstatic to see them perform it live! I screamed a ton and I rapped along with Hoseok because yes, I am so obsessed with this song that I memorized the rap parts. The people next to me were probably like ‘wtf’ because I was rapping along but HEY I DIDN’T MIND. I RAPPED WITH HOSEOK. I RAPPED WITH HOSEOK GUYS. Anyways the choreography for this made me swoon because it was kind of like ballroom dancing? They put their arms in front of them and it looked like they were ballroom dancing without the girl. Sooooo yeah I died.

9) PRACTICE VIDEO

10) ‘MANLY MAN’ CONTEST
The MC stepped out and honestly we were all like ‘wtf’ because none of us expected to see him. He knew that, and he was like “I know you guys aren’t that happy to see me” omg lol. And then he said “Please give me even 1/100 of your love for Bangtan, ARMYs.” So we were like “OKAAAAY!!”

He described that Bangtan was going to have a contest to see who the manliest member was. He introduced every member and they all entered like boxers. V was first, then J-Hope, and of course, V-Hope being the silly dorks they are, made a show of warming up and warning the other that they were going to win. I remember V started off walking really coolly, then he skipped like a little kid halfway across the stage. uwu OH AND JUNGKOOK TRIED TO BE COOL AND DID SOME KICKS BUT ENDED UP FALLING ON HIS BUTT. DUMBASS. I LOVE YOU.

First category: Dance battle!
Each member had to dance for a bit, then the MC said he would actually measure the decibels of how loud the screams for each member were. He was like “Who should go first…” and Taehyung was like “Hobi hyung should go first!! Hobi hyung!!” and the MC was like “OKAY, SO…. Okay you go first V.” Nice try Tae. HAHA. Here’s a list of the songs they danced to that I remember:

J-Hope – 24 Hours ; HE ACTUALLY DID SUNMI’S DANCE AND EVERYONE WAS SCREAMING AND HE SAID HE WAS HAPPY THE SONG CAME OUT BECAUSE HE KNEW THE DANCE AND HE WANTED TO DANCE IT HAHAHAH

Second category: Quiz Battle!
They were really dumb and precious ;; When Hoseok got a question wrong he’d say that he got it wrong on purpose to help his members get more points since he won the previous game. YEAAAH RIGHT.

Third category: Endurance Battle!
So in this one they had to hang from a monkey bar while the other members tickled them with various tools. V was like “WE SHOULD START WITH HOBI HYUNG THIS TIME” and the MC was like “Oh, because you started last time? Okay… this time the person that goes first is… V!!” HAHAHAH. It was so funny watching them try so hard not to laugh and let go of the bar. Jimin was way too ambitious but ended up only lasting 2 or 3 seconds. uwu

Last category: Athletic Battle
For this one, they had to race each other on the bouncy balls. Jimin was SUPER excited and started showing off his thighs claiming that he would definitely win this one. They had to bounce through the middle stage and I was afraid they might fall off, but thankfully they didn’t. Jungkook was super fast and we were all impressed. J-Hope kept saying that he was confident because of J-Horse but he couldn’t beat Jungkook in the end. Jimin, who was the most confident of them all, fell off the bouncy ball in the beginning and sprawled on the ground, then gave up and just did the race super slowly. Oh Jimin. uwu

I don’t remember where this exactly happened so I’m just going to put it here. The MC said V’s name wrong, so ARMYs were yelling at him about how to say it. So he was like V? and we were like V!!! And we repeated that multiple times while Taehyung was just dying of laughter. HAHA.

FINAL WINNER IS JEON JUNGKOOK! Of course, our golden maknae. The promise of this contest was that the winner would be granted a wish, and his wish was that his hyungs would call him ‘hyung’ and use formal speech to him for a day. And his wish came true! :’> As soon as he won the other members started calling him hyung.
(The other members’ wishes were:
Jin – have all the members crouch down and he would walk across their backs like a bridge
Suga – all the members would have to speak to him with something along the lines of ‘The Most Awesome Suga-Nim’
Rapmon – I DON’T REMEMBER I’M SO SORRY
Jimin – he would get to flick every member on the forehead. apparently his flicks are SUPER painful
V – the hyungs who earned some $$$ with their copyright since they composed the songs, would buy their dongsaengs dinner
J-Hope – something like being the star of Muster)

Then they gave away character dolls of every member. There’s only one of those in the entire world, they said ;; I WANTED ONE SO BAD. They pulled out seat numbers from a bag and of course, none of the ones they picked were my seat. LET ALONE MY SECTION. We were all complaining together that they never picked the A section haha.

11) HORROR PRANK
So to judge if Bangtan is manly, the staff made a prank where they made each member take a ‘manly quiz’ on the computer and have a ghost pop out in the middle.

…But most of them were not frightened by it at all. They showed Rapmon, Suga, Jin, and Jungkook just staring blankly at the screen when the ghost popped up. None of them were amused AT ALL. They were saying things like “This is sooo lame” “I saw this ghost face on the internet” “…Really? Really?” “Aw man I was really excited for this test.” I remember Jungkook said “I’m the best at watching scary things in Bangtan”

MEANWHILE. Jimin and J-Hope were SCARED SHITLESS. They screamed and yelped, covering their eyes when the ghost popped up. J-Hope was rambling on about how scared he was. HAHAHA that’s my bias right there guys.

The ending message said: “We know now that Bangtan is truly manly. …At least most of them…”

12) JUMP
Thankfully I looked over the fanchants while waiting in line for goods so I screamed along with everyone else!

13) PALDOGANGSAN
I WAS FUCKING SCREAMING MY LIFE OUT WHEN THIS SONG STARTED. It is my absolute favorite Bangtan song and I never NEVER expected to hear it live. The girls around me stood up so I did too after a while, and rapped along with the boys! To my surprise I knew like… every single line of the song… But yeah we all screamed and sang along with the boys and it was so fun.

14) ATTACK OF BANGTAN
They were like “ARE YOU GUYS ENJOYING THE PERFORMANCE?” and we were like “YES!!!!” then they said “WELL SOME OF YOU GUYS DON’T SEEM TO BE ENJOYING IT THAT MUCH…” And then Attack of Bangtan started playing. I went ecstatic. I screamed the fanchants so loud I was doubting my identity. No, like seriously. The kind of screaming that was coming out of my mouth… was not human. I was dancing along (kinda) and screaming and wow, I kind of had the time of my life. ;u;

15) MENT
The hyungs were left on stage as the maknae line + Hoseok went backstage. They said it was their turn now to diss the maknaes and Hoseok. Jin said that he was SUPER disappointed in ARMYs for not stopping the maknae line and Hoseok when they were dissing the hyungs previously.

They didn’t say much but the most memorable part for me was when they started talking about Jungkook and said that for some reason, he stayed up really late nowadays. They were talking about what he could possibly be doing up that late… /winks HAHA JUST KIDDING. They awkwardly discussed the topic and quickly moved on. While they were talking though, Taehyung popped up out of nowhere and creeped up behind them and joined in.

The rest of the hyungs left to change and V, Jimin, and J-Hope were left on stage. Suddenly Jimin said he had always wanted to try something: where he says Ji and we say Min. How cute ;u; Taehyung wanted to do a demonstration beforehand, and this is how it went:

Jimin: Ji!
V: V
Jimin: Ji!
V: V
Jimin: WHAT THE HECK DUDE

Anyways we granted his wish and he was squirming around because of how cheesy it was. J-Hope wanted to try it also, and he was like “I say 대학! You say 까지도 너랑 간다면 참 잘갈것 같아!” (His line from Boy in Luv) The ARMYs pulled it off really well though. J-Hope was really surprised and impressed. Taehyung wanted to do a wave through the audience and when it worked, he was squealing about how cool it was. The rest of the members came on stage and he squealed to them about it, and we did it again for him. :>

16) BOY IN LUV
They said this was the final stage (yeah right) and said they were sad and thanked everyone for coming to see them.
Their performance of Boy in Luv was perfect ;; I could tell they were really trying their hardest and giving it their all.

And now everyone was screaming ENCORE ENCORE ENCORE!!! And after a while… they started to show a video on the screen.

17) OLD LOGS
So the video was a compilation of old logs from them, back in January of 2013. The BigHit staff were already trying to make us cry, I swear to god. The logs were all about their struggles as they were preparing to debut. The most memorable ones:

Jin – He talked about how he was sick. He said that it wouldn’t be as bad if he was just suffering on his own, but he felt he was hindering his members by being sick and that made him feel really guilty.
V – He talked about how he wasn’t allowed to film the logs with the other members as he was still unrevealed, and that he would come into the room by himself sometimes and pretend to film logs. ;;
Jungkook – He mentioned that Lunar New Year was nearing, and that he missed his mom. He was like “I miss my mom. I want to go home. …I miss her.” ;__;
J-Hope – He said he had 2 goals that he wanted to achieve before debuting. 1: to become a better rapper, which he was learning from Rapmon and Suga, and 2: to improve in his dancing. He said he hoped that once it was time to debut, he would be skilled in those areas and that he would be able to show the fans something they would be impressed by. ;_____;

18) BORN SINGER
Then bam. All 7 of them were on stage and they performed Born Singer. Rapmon was really memorable in this performance, I don’t know why. He just seemed to put a lot of passion into whatever he was rapping and that really stuck out to me.

19) MESSAGES
The boys started off by mentioning how much they wanted to perform Born Singer, as it was a song that reflected how they felt about debuting and performing in front of fans. They said it was extremely meaningful that they would perform it in their first fanmeeting with ARMYs.

And then… the talk soon turned really sad. Here’s what I remember most.

V – He mentioned that he felt so happy to be performing in front of the fans, and that he remembered the days when he was still unrevealed. He then said that during those days, he wouldn’t be able to sleep at night and that he was in a really bad condition. (This really REALLY broke my heart because I had scary thoughts. ;; Maybe he had depression? Insomnia?) But he said he is glad now to be standing on stage now with the other 6 members. He had to pause a few times in his speech because he was on the verge of tears.

J-Hope – Hoseok was basically about to cry. His voice was trembling and he had to clear his throat multiple times to talk properly. Something I will remember forever is when he said: “They say that flowers are beautiful when they are alive and even when they are wilted. ARMYs, I want to be a flower-like singer for you all.” Wow. I was actually bawling while he was talking. That’s twice that I cried during the freaking fanmeeting.

Rapmon – What I remember most from what he said was when he described performing on stage. He said that before going on stage all he would be worried about was remembering his lines and remembering the choreography. But he said that as soon as they step on stage and face the fans, he can see the lightsticks and he can see them smiling and waving at him. He said this moment makes him blank out in awe, and really realize that he has fans supporting him and that he is loved. He also said that Bang Sihyuk told him, “I will make sure that your music will reach out to a lot of people. I can’t promise you a lot of things but I can promise you that for sure.” And Namjoon said he has been holding onto that trust until now. Isn’t that so touching? ;;

Jin – He said he was happy to be born because of ARMYs. ;__;

Jimin – He said he would try hard to keep improving for ARMYs. He said that with love, Bangtan will get more handsome! ;u;

My short term memory is preventing me from remembering the other members. GODDAMN IT. I’m so sorry. I was thinking about recording this last part but I didn’t because we weren’t allowed and I didn’t want to break any rules.

They said that now it was time for the real final stage – and said “WE LIKE YOU ARMY!!” to introduce the song. CRYING.
During the song they made sure to look at as many sections as possible. ;; I remember J-Hope was smiling and making a huge heart at my section omg I was dying so hard.

At the end they turned to every section and bowed and thanked everyone for coming to the fanmeeting. I waved at them like crazy, until they disappeared from sight.

The fanmeeting (more like mini-concert) was finally over.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Wow. When the fanmeeting ended, I was sad because it was over, but I was also so happy because I had gotten to see these amazing boys in person. Basically it was an overwhelming rush of feelings, and in the subway I just stared off into the distance because I had so many thoughts in my head. I think the best way to put it is, today I really felt that these boys truly deserve everything. They work so hard, and are so passionate about music. Seeing them on stage and finally achieving their dream was so meaningful to me and I am so proud to be a fan of BTS.

Honestly, it’s really touching to see a group of people finally achieve their dream with my own eyes. They have been waiting for this moment since so many years ago, and it’s finally here: they’re finally musicians, really talented ones at that, with a ton of people that love them and appreciate them. They made so many sacrifices to be where they are right now, and I can really see that those sacrifices paid off. Yes, it was absolutely amazing to see these boys live and have fun with them, but after this fanmeeting I realized that I took away something more than just a sore throat, red eyes, and a painful arm from swinging my lightstick around. Watching Bangtan makes me think more of myself and where my passions lie; I want to be like them one day. I want to find myself in a moment in my future, where I have finally achieved my dreams. Where I’ve given up many things for a moment that I do not regret.
