It’s official – 2017 Billboard Music Awards Top Social Artist award winners BTS will be performing at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards! BTS will make history yet again, becoming the first K-Pop group to perform at the awards show. BTS, who is nominated for the Top Social Artist award for the second year in a row, will also unveil a huge surprise during their performance – the Billboard Music Awards will also be the platform for the world television premiere of BTS‘ new single from their upcoming album ‘Love Yourself: Tear‘!
The news was announced through both Billboard and BTS‘ official Twitter accounts. Both accounts shared the same video clip, bringing the news to ARMYs all across the world. Check them out below!

BTS‘ 2017 Top Social Artist win was just one achievement in a huge year for the seven-member group. After completing a world tour BTS released their album ‘Love Yourself: Her‘ which debuted at number 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart, and its title track ‘DNA‘ which debuted at number 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart. Throughout the year the group also launched their joint campaign with UNICEF, as well as performing on at the American Music Awards in between appearing on numerous talk shows and collaborating with big-name artists Steve Aoki and Desiigner.
2018 is also shaping up to be a big year for the boys of BTS. In addition to being confirmed to perform at the Billboard Music Awards BTS have already made a Japanese comeback with ‘Face Yourself‘, and J-Hope made his solo debut with ‘Hope World‘.
BTS will perform live at the Billboard Music Awards which will air from 8PM Eastern Time on May 20 – that’s 9AM on May 21 in Korean Standard Time! BTS‘ new album ‘Love Yourself: Tear‘ will be released just days before their performance, and is due out on May 18.
