BEHIND the SCENES
Just looking at this, wouldn't you say that they're gifted? The image of Sandara Park and CL both shine in front of the camera, despite having recorded until early in the morning the previous day.
These girls were enjoying themselves 100%, from the moment they started doing their makeup, put on cool clothing, and even while the cameras were flashing at the girls. In the words of the photo artist, the second that the lights are turned on, Sandara Park transforms, and when CL is in front of the camera, she instantly displays her talent and ability to let loose and play.
Sandara Park and CL almost never do makeup regularly. So when they were made up during the shoot, they kept on exclaiming about how amazing it was, while looking at the mirror. 'I really look different!'. When getting their makeup done, it must have been quite boring however each time the girls kept exclaiming how amazing it was, they were very lively and earnest.
They didn't have a single blemish on their face, and although they had mentioned their lack of sleep, they were fully absorbed. Even throughout the boring process of getting made up and the long photoshoot, they didn't tire out, displaying their powerful endurance. They were simply thankful that they were 'idols'. We decided to ask a couple of questions about makeup and skincare to these fresh and original girls.
ALLURE: Do you guys like the concept of today's photoshoot?
SANDARA: It's still summer but the photoshoot's interesting because it has a more of an autumn feeling to it. The makeup includes autumn colours such as gold and brown too so it really seems like I've become an autumn girl(!). When I'm striking a pose, it seems like I can grasp the autumn feeling more. (laughs).
CL: When filming CFs I have to make expressions that are consistent so I couldn't display my full talent, since the range for photoshoots is wider, I can film with more excitement. I normally like the colours brown and khaki and since today's eye makeup utilized these two colours I find it exciting and interesting.
ALLURE: You're also doing activities as make-up models, do you normally take a lot of care with your makeup?
SANDARA: We are currently doing activities as Etude models, and since it's a brand that I've used since I was a trainee, I feel more attached to it. Usually, I almost never do my makeup, but I like to put on BB cream.
CL: I'm just really amazed. That I've become a makeup product model! I usually just go out without make up on but sometimes to make my eyes look wider, I try putting on eye liner. Honestly, since putting on eyeliner is really elaborate to do, it's not easy for me.
ALLURE: Out of the Etude products, what's one that you regularly like to use?
SANDARA: I use their BB cream and blush a lot. The texture is good and it absorbs nicely into my skin. In addition, I like the colour of the blush and it's convenient to use.
CL: I really like Etude's moisturizer. Whenever I put on this product, no matter how much makeup I put on, it seems like my face remains moisturized for a long time. I also like the tangly texture to it too.
ALLURE: Is there perhaps a member that is good at doing makeup by herself?
SANDARA: Park Bom. She always does her makeup to give the edge of her eyes an attractive point. She's even reached the expert level for smoky makeup as well. That's something I really admire her for!
CL: Bom unni! She really knows good methods of doing her makeup in ways that let her personal charm shine.
ALLURE: You put on a lot of makeup for performances but when you remove your makeup, is there a specific part that you're more careful about?
SANDARA: The skin around the edges of my eyes are really delicate so I always use eye makeup remover to take off my makeup there. Because the makeup we put on for performances is really thick, if we don't carefully cleanse, the makeup won't remove properly and it's easy to irritate our skin.
CL: I put makeup remover on a cotton-swab and carefully remove it. Since I tend to have a lot of eye makeup on for performances, to remove makeup from one of my eyes, I sometimes go through more than 10 cotton-swabs just to wipe it off. I have to use cotton swabs to properly remove my eyeliner and mascara.
ALLURE: Do you have a method of taking care of your skin regularly?
SANDARA: Normally, I just put lotion on my skin, however once in a while, I'll use face packs.
CL: I drink a lot of water. When I drink a lot of water, my skin always becomes more moist and my skin tone is better as well.
ALLURE: We're aware that you're going to be coming back soon. Can you tell us a little bit about your comeback song, your style concept or your choreography?
SANDARA: Other than the fact that the polished-off song was made by Teddy and that the styling will be free style like always, everything is still a secret.
CL: I still can't say anything about it but I can guarantee a really upbeat song. I hope everyone is anticipating it.
ALLURE: Lastly, please tell us something about your plans for the future.
SANDARA: We are planning to make a comeback soon. We'll be back with a great song and really cool choreography. Since we worked really hard to prepare, we hope everyone is anticipating.
CL: When I'm on stage, it's the happiest and most enjoyable time for me. I want to stand on stage again soon and see our fans again. We'll be coming back soon so please wait just a little longer.
