This fall has seen a steady flow of some of k-pop’s hottest acts releasing new albums. Among these acts, there’s Jeon Hyo-sung, Zinger, Song Ji-eun, and Han Sun-hwa as the four-membered group Secret who first debuted in 2009.
KBS World Radio has decided to freshen things up in 2011 by starting up a new Back Stage Chat series, starting with an interview with Secret, who just released their first full-length album . The album has already been skyrocketing up many of Korea’s major music charts.
So what kind of tracks does contain? Were there any international fans that they remember in particular? Do they have any special promotional plans for abroad?
Former Miss Korea Hawaii, Angie Park takes you along to meet the gals and find out the answers to some of these questions for our first episode of Back Stage Chat! We hope all our k-pop fans and KBS World Radio listeners will tune in and support our new series!
Interview
Q: Would you please introduce your new album to us? Also, could we get a short taste of your title song?
A: This is the first full-length album that we’ve released since our debut two years ago. is the title featuring a total of 10 brand new songs. So this is an album where you can see a new side of Secret. (sings a short clip of their new song “Love Is Move”)
Q: Many girl groups are making comebacks this fall, who does Secret consider to be their biggest rivals?
A: This may sound really cliché, but we feel we ourselves are our biggest rivals.
Q: During your Secret activities/experiences, what other countries have you visited so far?
A: We’ve been to Japan, Thailand, and Guam too. Yes, we’ve traveled around quite a bit because of our scheduled performances.
Q:If you had to pick one foreign fan that really left an impression, who was it?
A: It was our [group’s] 2 year anniversary recently. So there was a Japanese fan who made a cake for us and came all the way to wait in front of our company. So thanks to that fan, we had a simple 2 year anniversary celebration, blowing out the candles and everything..
Q: Lastly, what are you future plans for this fall or winter?
A: Yes, since we’ve made our comeback with our album, we will work hard to promote our song in Korea. Then we will release a mini album titled in Japan this November. So we’re planning on promoting in Japan in line with that. We would be so thankful if you showed us lots of love and interest for our group Secret.
