MBLAQ will start their Japanese tour on August 15th, but they received quite a lot of negative responses because of that day.

In Korea, August 15th is Korea’s Liberation Day (Gwangbokjeol), where Korea was released from colonial rule. MBLAQ’s agency, J.Tune Camp, have spoken out to defend the situation.

J.Tune Camp stated:

“We of course also thought hard about performing in Japan on Liberation Day. We tried to change the date with as much effort as possible, but we couldn’t due to lot of problems and schedules.

When we first got the date, even the company workers were very much against it. But if you look at it from a different perspective, it’s not something that’s too much of a problem.

As we were freed from Japanese rule on that day, it may actually feel weirder for the Japanese fans. So to stand on a Japanese stage on such a day like that is something that will actually raise the status of KPOP. Please try and look at it optimistically.”
