New rookie trot girl group, 7Size, are making preparations to release their second single in May. If you’re wondering why they are compared to SNSD, you’re about to find out the reason.
7Size is a Neo-Trot group formed in February last year, under TGN Entertainment, and has since been in many interviews as well as appearing in a show in China. They were originally chosen from an audition in Korea, and were formerly racing models as well as dancers. One of the members is fluent in 4 languages. Two members left the group, and were replaced with two new members, to match their group’s name. The lineup consists of EunJi (leader), EunJung, MinJung, SiEun, Dasol, Hwaran, and 서정. They debuted on February 23, 2009 with “Broken Heart“.
They worked tirelessly to debut, practising singing and dancing for at least 10 hours a day. Regarding the new single, 7Size’s entertainment company commented, “We plan for this new album to throw away their debut image of just a trot group and will show off a serious girl group who can preform pop, dance, and modern rock songs. We will keep up this rigorous practice routine and will try to impress everyone on music programs and variety shows. They are already being booked at university events and local festivals.”
Personally, the similarities between them and SNSD are that they are a relatively large group, and are popular in the trot music scene, as SNSD are popular in the Kpop music scene. Would this single be a success? Have your say!
