The arrival of yet another South Korean group to meet their fans here, this time it's CNBLUE, a band formed by four boys. The four boys showed up at the press conference yesterday morning, in handsome white style. They appeared to be simple and modest during the interview. CNBLUE, with members ranging from 18 to 21 years of age, were baffled when they were asked about marriage related topics.

CNBLUE were in Singapore yesterday for a fan signing event and are to hold a mini concert in NUS University Cultural Centre (UCC) today. Leader Jung Yonghwa, who was the second lead actor in the Korean drama “You’re Beautiful”, is also the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist. Lee Jonghyun is the guitarist of CNBLUE, Kang Minhyuk is the drummer and Lee Jungshin is the bassist.

As the band were originally learning band music in Japan, CNBLUE first debuted in Japan last year with mini albums before releasing an album in South Korea. As for their Asia tour, Singapore is the first stop.

During the interview, the answers from CNBLUE were rather standard. Like when they were asked about their biggest achievements until now, they said that they have no big achievement yet, but are enjoying every moment, with feelings of great accomplishments. CNBLUE also said that they would not treat FTIsland, another boy band, as their rival, but rather they will learn from each other. CNBLUE’s way of releasing stress is talking to each other or listening to music together.

Who has the biggest change since debut? CNBLUE answered that their characters have not changed much. However, leader Jung Yonghwa added a funny answer, saying “ Lee Jungshin looked manly when he initially joined them. Now he has become ‘beautiful’, not as a girl, but ….. ‘beautiful’.”

Clarified that they never said about liking older girls

CNBLUE were asked which song from their album they would dedicate to their girlfriends if they have one. The members chose love songs from their albums like “Sweet Holiday”, “Love Light” and “Love Revolution”. Jung Yonghwa also chose “Love Revolution”, but he began by saying “Any song except ‘I’m a Loner’ as I don’t want to be a loner.”

South Korean media had previously reported that CNBLUE likes older girls, but CNBLUE clarified that there has been some miscommunication with the media. Minhyuk said “I do not mind the age gap with the other party, as long as we feel comfortable with each other, just like friends, that is enough.”

CNBLUE also clarified on misleading reports which said that they like pretty girls. Lee Jonghyun expressed that looks are not important, being comfortable with each other is most important.

CNBLUE has appeared on a South Korean variety show “We Got Married”, partnering with another celebrity to try out marriage life. The four members kept smiling when they were asked about what they have learnt from the show, showing their embarrassments. Lee Jonghyun felt that “Marriage is really a difficult thing”. Lee Jungshin added that “Marriage is so complicated. It will be a difficult decision for me.”

Any thoughts of what age to get married? Jung Yonghwa said, “I have yet to think of what age to get married. Now I am thinking more of getting more work done, such as performing for fans, etc."
