Nation's sweetheart, IU, took over the airwaves and has been chosen as the best singer of the year by netizens.
Online music portal, Monkey3, conducted an online poll and surveyed for the "2011′s most active singer of the year" from December 8th to 14th. Soloist IU ranked no. 1 by earning 29 percent of the 285 votes.
IU proved her unparalleled talent, sweeping an array of music charts this year with her hit singles, "Good Day", "The Story Only I Didn’t Know“, OST for ‘Dream High‘ “Someday", the ‘The Greatest Love‘ OST "Take My Hand", and the theme song for SBS’s ‘Kiss and Cry‘ “Ice Flower. In addition, IU made her comeback with a much bigger impact through her latest title track "You and I", which has been chosen the "Longest-running #1 Song of the Year" by Melon Music.
Meanwhile, following IU on the poll, B2ST came in second with 53 votes (19%), followed by Big Bang (15%), LeeSsang (14%), T-ara (13%) and 2NE1 (11%).
