Singer IU’s ‘Good Day’ has been selected as the top proposal song for this Valentine’s Day.

The music site ‘KumYoung’ posted a survey asking ‘What’s the best song for when a girl wants to confess her love to a guy?’, and both males and females selected IU’s ‘Good Day’ as their #1 choice.

The males were specifically asked ‘Which song would be prettiest if sung by your girlfriend’, and 56% chose IU’s ‘Good Day.’ Females were asked which song they’d like to sing for their boyfriends on Valentine’s Day, and 52% selected IU’s ‘Good Day.’

More specifically, 45% of the females surveyed said that they’d like to borrow IU’s voice while singing their profession of love. Their reason for doing so was because IU ‘has a voice that is surprisingly mature yet full of aegyo* and charm.’

‘KumYoung’ held this survey from Jan. 27th to Feb. 6th and targeted those in their 20s to 30s.

Translator's Note: 'Aegyo' refers to overly cute expressions. Also, unlike in Western nations, Valentine's Day in Korea is when females show their love/appreciation for males. The following March 14th is 'White Day,' and that's the day males get to return the favor. Supposedly, April 14th is 'Black Day,' where all the single people who didn't get anything on either Valentine's Day or White Day go out to relieve their sorrows by eating 'black noodles' (soy sauce noodles).
