After the debut of Seo Taeji and Boys in 1992, the breaks that were given to singers to rest and get ready for next album have been shortened or don’t exist anymore because of the recent changes in the music industry environment.
In January, SNSD and 2AM had a competition as they released their new albums with only a couple days difference and shared the 1st place of various online music charts. These groups came out with their repackage albums right after they ended their work with their 2nd official album and 3rd single album without any breaks.
SNSD came on KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’ with their new song ‘Run Devil Run’ on March 19th, a week after they had their goodbye performance of ‘Oh!’ on MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ on March 13th. They really have a schedule where they can’t rest. 2AM is the same way. They are actively working right now with their song ‘I Did Wrong’ right after ‘Can’t Let You Go Even If I Die.’
After these situations happened, people have said that the music industry has a ‘competition of stars the whole year.’ Because many singers have started taking notice of each other and adjusting their album release dates, it has become difficult to find a time when the big singers are not making their comebacks.
