SM vs JYP, 'big match' of large scale concerts on the 21st
The two big agencies of Korea, SME and JYPE, will be rivaling one another as they open large scale concerts on the 21st in Seoul and Taiwan this weekend.
SME will be opening 'SM Town live 10 World Tour In Seoul' at Seoul's Jamshil Gymnasium featuring artists such as Kangta, BoA, TVXQ's Yunho and Changmin, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, f(x), and others along with actors and actresses Kim Minjong, Kim Ara, and etc.
The concert will begin at 4 PM and proceed for a total of 6 hours consisting of 80 different songs. Interviews with each artist are planned. SME stated on the 18th, "There will be a lot to see such as duet performances by Yunho and Changmin, BoA and SHINee's Key, and sisters Jessica and Krystal. The concert will start in Seoul and move out into LA, Tokyo, Shanghai, and other Asian cities."
JYPE chose Taiwan as their first battlefield in the rivalry between JYPE and SME. On the 20th, JYPE will hold a press conference at 3 PM and open a concert the next day at 6 PM titled 'MULA (Mnet Ultimate Life Asia). Participants include Park Jinyoung, Wonder Girls, 2PM, and miss A for a total 4 hour concert with each group singing 4~7 songs. This concert is the joint effort of JYPE and Mnet Media in an effort to maximize the Hallyu market.
Mnet Media stated, "Mnet Media and JYPE received great results in broadcasts, music releases in China, and other cooperative efforts. We're planning to take this opportunity to broaden the Hallyu wave in China, Thailand, and other Asian markets."
