One of the most well known names in Korean hip hop, Tiger JK is teaming up with internationally-acclaimed author, Paulo Coelho, for a charity event. Coelho is well known for works such as “The Alchemist”, “Veronica Decides To Die”, and “Eleven Minutes”.?
Tiger JK and Coelho came to meet through the vast world of Twitter. After having met through this unconventional method, the two are joining to raise money for child abuse and child sexual abuse.?
On the afternoon of September 6th, Coelho tweeted, “Thank you my fav Korean rapper [Tiger JK] for your help to?http://www.paulocoelho.com.br/port/ins.shtml.”
The posted web address was a link to the website of his charity foundation, promoting his cause for children.?Of course Tiger JK soon took to his Twitter in response. He posted, “Beautiful people from Korea to Brazil doing it. And I’m just following their lead. Thank you for your healing words always. Obrigado!!!”?
Interestingly enough, the two have yet to meet in person. However, the world of Twitter, and now the common interest of fighting for the rights of children seems to be strengthening their ties.
Tiger JK’s representative commented, “Paulo Coelho has a charity foundation for child abuse and child sexual abuse. Tiger JK has been making donations to the cause, and more importantly, actively promoting it to attract others to do the same. When Tiger JK heard about this great cause, he jumped in to action to help out. He’s currently focused on spreading the word on this foundation. There are also plans for the two to meet in person to work together on a volunteer project soon.”
