To Anyone is still racking up awards. Dorsirak, an online music site similar to Monkey3 and Melon, recently posted its year-end awards list. To Blackjacks delight, To Anyone has recieved the Album of the Year Award.
With this award, To Anyone has now won its THIRD 'Album of the Year' award this year. Previously, 2NE1's To Anyone album won Album of the Year at MNET Asian Music Awards along with a host of other honors. To Anyone was also awarded Album of the Year at the 2010 Melon Awards held last month. Now that 2010 is over, we suspect 2NE1's album will appear on even more award lists.
What is special about 2NE1's accomplishment is that their album was released rather late in the year. That T Anyone was able to do so well is a testament both to the girls talents and to Mr. YG's ambitious triple track promotions. Mr. YG said he wanted listeners to be able to enjoy more of the album then just the a single title song.
Typically, the fans and public focus on the title track to the detriment of the remaining songs on an album. However, 2NE1 promoted three songs simultaneously and four songs total allowing the public to hear and enjoy more of the album than a single title track promotion would have allowed. This strategy is reaping dividends as 2NE1 is being honored for having a great album, not just one good song. Looks like Mr. YG's plan was successful.
Congratulations 2NE1!
