Philippines group Chicser received much attention, but of the negative kind, when they updated their Twitter.
Member Owy Posadas tweeted some messages to fans to anticipate their upcoming parody of One Direction, inputting the hashtag ‘#ChicserWeAreOne,’ infuriating numerous EXO fans.
The phrase is the trademark greeting of idol group EXO, who are known to say ‘We are one, we are EXO!‘ at all their public appearances. Fans were upset by this lack of originality and began bashing Owy and the group, and many joined the already-existent as ‘Anti Chicser’ Facebook page, now with over 75,700 likes.
While ‘#ChicserWeAreOne’ appeared on Philippines trending chart, fans bonded together to trend ‘#ExoWeAreOne‘ to first place on worldwide trends.
With this plagiarism issue, fans also dug up an old performance of Chicser singing to Super Junior‘s ‘Mr. Simple‘ but dancing to ‘Sorry, Sorry,’ receiving even more hate.
