Warning: Spoilers ahead!
It was revealed in Episode 10 of Produce 101 Season 2 that there wouldn’t be one Debut Evaluation song, but in fact two!
‘Super Hot‘ produced by Ryan Jhun, who had also produced the season’s theme song ‘나야 나/Naya Na (Pick Me)‘ but is also known for his work on K-Pop hits including Shinee‘s ‘Lucifer‘ and Red Velvet‘s ‘Dumb Dumb‘.
‘Hands On Me’ produced by The Underdogs, known for not only K-Pop hits such as EXO‘s ‘Overdose‘ and Girls’ Generation‘s ‘Mr.Mr‘, but also Western artist hits including Chris Brown‘s ‘Turn Up The Music‘.
The trainees allocated themselves between the two songs through a challenge where lower ranked trainees picked what parts of what song they wanted. However, a higher ranked trainee could either pick a remaining part, or take a part already chosen and move the trainee they replaced to any other part including to the other song, leading to some strategic plays.
