There is no end to PSY‘s popularity as his music video for “Gentleman” has just reached 700 million hits on YouTube!
The music video was released on YouTube on April 13th, 2013, shortly after a live premiere of the song during PSY’s “Happening” concert in Seoul, which was also streamed online. On April 18th, the music video was banned by KBS for “abusing public property” by kicking a cone in it.
“Gentleman” reached 100 million views just in few days after its release on YouTube and became the fastest music video to reach that many views, beating Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” Soon after it became the fastest video to reach 200 million views. 300 million people watched the video within 25,5 days, and 400 million in 55 days. When it reached 500 million views on July 31st, only 110 days after its release, it became 8th the most viewed video on YouTube ever.
