Who would have thought that PSY‘s “Gangnam Style” will be used to controle “May Day” protesters in Indonesia?
That is exactly what happened on May 1st in the city of Surabaya in eastern Java in Indonesia. That day, approximately 5000 protesters gathered for “May Day” demonstration, when suddenly 80 local police women, in their standard-issue police uniforms, sunglasses, and caps, started to dance the famous “horse dance”.
At first, the protesters were shocked with police women’s behavior, but then, many of them joined in and performed the choreography for about 30 minutes!
The local police station’s representative stated: “To control the protesters, the officers practiced the ‘horse dance’ for three days. Dancing makes people calm and happy.”
