PSY has recently announced that 5 million ($500,000 USD) won will be donated from the profits of, “Gentleman” and his “Happening” concert.

He commented that, “Fans have been showing me such great love and it’s very overwhelming. Repaying them with fun songs in the future is a must but more importantly, I will continue to make donations for the people who have been neglected and are in pain.

PSY expressed his gratitude by saying, “With the support I received from my Korean fans, I think I will be able to do well during my overseas promotions.”

The donations will be put towards child cancer patients. PSY’s decision was reportedly influenced by Yang Hyun Suk‘s donation in the past of 1 billion won (approximately $1 million USD) to sick child patients.

He made this decision on April 24th, the day before he left for the US to promote his new single there. He plans to continue donating proceeds, including those from his overseas promotions.
