Auditions for “Super Star K 5” are now under way!
Global auditions for the upcoming season will be held in LA, New York, Boston, USA, and Vancouver, Canada.
Since it debuted in 2009, “Super Star K” is one of Korea’s most impressive audition programs, turning out stars like Roy Kim, Ulala Session, Seo In Guk, Huh Gak and Busker Busker.
The number of applicants for the show have increased greatly since the first season. In 2009, there were 710,000 people who auditioned, in 2010 there were 1.34 million, and in 2011, 1.96 million. Last year, a record of 2.08 million people auditioned.
Preliminaries for overseas auditions have been held since the second season, and the amount of auditions have shot up to 6,000.
