Sky Ferreira roused the interest of both indie and K-Pop music fans last month when her melancholy vocals unexpectedly popped up on “Black,” a collaboration with G-Dragon, the leader of BIG BANG.
She goes on to share the details on the East-meets-West recording session with John Norris, “They got us in the studio and were like, ‘We want to play you this song that’s called ‘Black.’ I don’t really know that much about the culture there, so I didn’t want to go and change the lyrics.”
Ferreira admits she didn’t know of G-Dragon’s global fanbase until a photo of them together got more than 140,000 likes on Instagram, “He’s like the Justin Timberlake of Asia, I didn’t know that!”
Sky Ferreira’s full-length debut album, “Night Time, My Time,” was released on October 29, 2013.
